Current and Past PTO Projects

Red Ribbon Week & I Love to Read Week:  We need a chair or co-chairs to coordinate with the schools for these activities.  In the past we have provided treats for the students during these weeks, but we are open to suggestions!   Hands-on projects are great!

Staff Appreciation Week:  We like to show our appreciation to all the people who work with our students throughout the year during the first week of May.  This could be as simple or as extravagant as anyone would like to make it.  We need a chair or co-chairs for this project.

Scholastic Book Fairs:  We hold a Scholastic Book Fair at each school each fall during the first Parent Teacher Conferences.  We need people to help co-chair this activity and also to work during the book fairs.  Normally we have a couple of days that the book fair is open from 8:00am until conferences are done in the evening.  The libraries get a hefty percentage of the sales to spend with Scholastic to expand their inventory.

Box Tops for Education:  These are found on the packages of several different items and are worth 10 cents a piece to us.  We need a chair or co-chairs who are interested in collecting the Box Tops from the schools and packaging them to send to the company.  Or you can volunteer to just clip and count!

Campbell Soup Labels:  This is another project that involves collecting, clipping, sorting, and counting.   We need a chair or co-chairs and also people who can collect, clip, and sort the labels.  The schools get to order supplies, activities, and classroom items from a catalog that the company sends us.

Spring Fundraiser:  We sell World Finest Chocolate during the spring.  This is our largest fundraiser of the year and we need a chair or co-chairs.  It involves getting order forms ready for students, collecting the tally sheets, ordering the candy, sorting the candy, and collecting money.  The most help is needed when the chocolate comes in and needs to be sorted to go home with students.  We raised $21,000+ last spring!

We have other projects that come up throughout the school year, please watch the school newsletters and volunteer sheets that go home with your children!
