Superintendent

Superintendent of Schools

My name is Brian Gum, I am the Superintendent of Havre Public Schools! I am originally from Butte, Montana and grew up on the west side of our state. Before moving to Havre, I taught as a Physical Education/Science teacher and coach for numerous years before transitioning into administration. I spent the past 14 years with the Stevensville School District serving as the Activities/Transportation Director, Curriculum Director, 7-12 Principal, and High School Principal.

My wife, Erin, works at Bullhook Medical Center here in Havre and our daughter Roma is a sophomore at HHS. We have two older children, Hunter who is a freshman and plays football at Carroll College and Jaren who is in the Army/Law Enforcement in Bozeman. Since moving to Havre, I have found this community to be truly focused on supporting its students and holding high expectations.

My goal for Havre Public Schools is to continue to expand educational opportunities for our students. As educators and parents, it’s imperative that we foster a learning environment that works for all students. The world we live in is fast paced and ever-changing. We need to be cognizant of this as the education we provide needs to prepare our students for this type of environment.

I can be reached at the Robins Administration Building or at gumb@blueponyk12.com

Thanks, and Go Ponies!
